So I picked up this small Nessie from the Maker's For Sale section.
It had been sitting out there for a while with several looks but no
one actually buying. I didn't really need another small knife and
money was a little tight, so I thought I'd avoid buying it. But I kept
checking back...yeah, you know the rest of the story.

Well it turns out that this is one of the most useful small knives
I own. Makes a great little EDC. And seems to be able to do most
anything.

I never really knew why the hump on the back of a Nessie was useful.
Now I do. The hump on this knife makes a great little thumb ramp
or place to put an index finger.

The handle is small--3.5 fingers--and designed to be palmed for push
cutting. Very comfortable.

Doesn't look like much, but it's a heck of package.

Christof, do you remember what the steel and handle materials are?

i remember seeing htat one a while back, great looking knife. i like christofs take on the nessmuk.

Looks like an Ipe handle to me and I think he usually uses 15N20 steel on his EDC-style knives. That does look like a nice knife. As soon as I saw that edge I knew it was a Koyote right off the back. Looks like a great score!

Belt.

Koyote Girl made a simple but lovely
pouch-type sheath for it. It could work as a
pocket knife, but the sheath is set up for
the belt, and the whole package is pretty
unobtrusive when on the belt. I tied the little
lanyard so that the knot can be tucked in
behind a belt to secure it.

Thanks. I think 15N20 is right, but
you never know what Christof is
willing to try.

I also think the handle is Ipe. My
wood identification skills are weak
though.

I like the hump on the back, in my case it allows a better grip to use the ness as a draw knife, I also occasionally use it to spread things on bread.
