What was the knife designed for. Defense, survival? Please don't say cutting, haha, kinda figured that. I won one on e-bay a few weeks ago, and it has about stayed in my pocket. It seems so different from the other knives I have owned, but in a good way. It really feels good in my hand to. I keep telling myself, it is to small, and that I ned to carry my chinook III. Spyderco makes the fighting knives!

I believe it was designed for Martial Blade Craft, so primarily SD. It is, however, a great general pupose utility use knife, which is how I use mine.

I was under the opinion that it was for both utility and SD, rather than a primarily SD knife. More useful for general use than, say, the Yojimbo, but still a solid knife for SD.

Leaf - utility

Rhino - MBC

 I guess both could be either.

I think it differs slightly, the catalog says 3 1/16 inches, while Ted has reported that the S30V blades are just under 3 inches. For my S30V version, 3 inches, or a fraction under it.

Mine measures a mite under 3", an important facotr to me as I carry it in Washington, DC, with its 3" maximum blade length.
