I just picked up a Lil' Temp leaf blade and have a few questions for all you Spyderco experts. When was the blade steel switched from CPM 440V to S30V? Where there more made in CPM 440V then S30V. How many leaf shape versus trailing point versions were made. How many years were these made. Thanks for any answers. BTW I have most flat ground Spyderco and did not have this model yet. I wish I would have purchased one sooner. After just a couple hours of having it I think the Lil' Temp has one of the most comfortable grips of any Spydey.

The experts are all sleeping, I'll see what I can do;)

The Lil' Temp debuted in the 2002 Catalog(but was likely available in late 2001) and was advertised with 440V, the following catalog(2003) shows the steel changed to S30V, so I would speculate the change took place between the prior to the publishing of the 2003 catalog, likely fall of 2002, or later.

Exact production numbers are something Spyderco will not disclose, for reasons of confidentiality(i.e. it shouldn't be public knowledge how much revenue Spyderco made, that type of sales info is, and always should be, confidential).

However, given that the Lil' Temp was advertised with S30V for two years, and 440V for only one year, it stands to reason that there were most likely more made with S30V.

See above;) And then below for more info.

Neither myself, nor any of my fellow collectors have EVER seen a Trailing Point made in S30V, so one could assume they were only produced for one year(they were not as popular as the Leaf blade). The Trailing Points are much less common, and if you ever find one with a Serrated Edge, do post it here. An SE Trailing Point is a Unicorn of sorts, noone is sure whether or not they actually exist:p
