I just bought one off of e-bay. Can anyone tell me about these? I wanted it as small defense knife. Is $140 a good price?

Well, I can tell you that you just purchased one of the most popular Spyderco knives of all time for a lot of Spyderco fans. It is a great knife, that you should love. It is light and strong.

+1 for the Lil Temp being a great knife!

The Lil Temp is one of my favorite Spydies. I carry a SE or PE Lil Temp nearly every day. It has amazing ergonomics that can't be beat. It is one of the all time greats from Spyderco. You won't be disappointed.

$140 sounds like a fair price to me. The supply of Lil Temps is drying up so I would guess that they will be going up in price in the near future.

It is also one of Spyderco's Martial Blade Rated knives, meaning that it is rated for defense work.

$140 seems to be the going "fair" price for one. They really feel great in the hand. I like the knife a lot.....it's robust but not too heavy; the flat ground blade is all business and is a nice "in between" size for EDC.

Congratulations on your new knife....let us know your impressions when the Lil' Temp arrives, and you have had the opportunity to use it.

-Regards

That's a good price, and the Lil' T should serve you well for self-defence. The good thing about buying one is that it's a win-win. If you like it, you have one hell of a knife. If you don't, there are plenty of people willing to buy it from you.

From now on, all your future knives will be compared to this one.;)

It really is a beast. It's not THAT light, but rides without notice.

The clip will chew on your pockets, but such a beast has to eat:rolleyes:

And the comp Lock is now my favorite of all.....

And if you don't like it, it's really easy to sell, ... but you won't.!

Take care

Simon

You will not be disapointed. This is an example of the trailing point. The knive has it all, Great design, awesome blade and really good feel in the hand. The clip is one of the coolest that Spyderco had made. Congrats :D :D

Can't wait to get it now. Wonder why it was discountnued?

I think that part of the reason was that the compression lock was still new on the market, and as a result that might have turned some people off, since it wasn't known how well it would perform in real life.

That said, one good part about the Lil' Temp is that it's both a great utility knife as well as SD, when compared to something like the Yojimbo or the Civvie, which is primarily SD, which might turn out to be a useful point, if (God forbid) you ever end up in court for defending yourself.

Which type did you buy, trailing point or spear point?
