I picked up a Linder Convex Machete on Ebay and did some mods to it. The wood handle was removed and repaced with Micarta. I Made a new sheath by cutting off a US military machete sheath to fit it . The hanger is from the Linder sheath and has a Bianch clip attached to it. The whole thing is riveted to the back of the sheath. Since we moved to a smaller house I have a very small workshop. All the work was done with a die grinder, jig saw, files and sandpaper. The screws holding the micarta to the machete are stainless from the local hardware store. I like short machetes. This one has a 9 1/2 inch blade. I would prefer a 12 or 16 but this one works well for northwoods work.

NICE! I love the micarta grips... Is it easy to work with? How did you shape the grips? Power tools used?

Thanks... I'd love to do that to one of my Tram's or my Martindale.

Congratulations. You did a really fine job on the modifications.

I'm just wondering what you didn't like about the original handle. I'm asking because I have 4 Linders - 2 short, 1 medium, and 1 long.
