Liner locks and frame locks are dangerous crap!

Yesterday I was using my Gerber Paraframe Mini to lift the car to change a tire since I didn't want to bother with the jack. I figured one lever is as good as another. Well, just when I thought everything would be fine, the lock failed and the blade closed, severing all ten of my fingers, one of my legs, and the head of a swayback old horse three counties over. The lock was useless!

In the Gerber's defense, that swayback was sort of a dick.

I can't argue with the truth. And after sending the rest of the horse to the glue factory, I had enough glue to reattach my leg and seven of my fingers. It wasn't easy deciding which three fingers to leave in the trash with all of my liner locks and frame locks.

Strange. The Paraframe is usually a pretty HARD USE folder. I mean just the other day I used it to split two loads of seasoned oak fire wood and then cut through some steel fencing for around my yard.

I think you need to call Gerber CS about this one.

This was just the Mini . . . no batoning logs bigger than 24" in diameter and (apparently) it's limited to one ton for car lever-upping.

Oof! I forgot about the tire.

It's always the details that get you when you refuse to let the truth get in the way of a good story.
