I am using 410 stainless (.040") for my liner in my first liner lock. Is it necessary to harden the liner to keep the spring in the lock. If so, what procedure might I use. I have a small furnace with programmable procedures.

Thanks for any help.

That 416 will not work for you, I don't think. You won't be able to get a spring hardness into it. Go with titanium closer to .050 and you won't go wrong. You can get small pieces from Alpha Knife Supply. Frank

Thanks Frank
I'm using 410 stainless (your response might be the same), but I will use titanium. I want to use stainless bolsters, though. How would you fasten them. I'm not particularly fond of the look of multiple screws on the bolsters.
