Liner material for a friction folder?

I've been working on that friction folder again- it's morphed into a sodbuster blade in a Remington Bullet handle. However, I'm starting to ponder liner material for after I get the blade ground.

Any recommendations? I'm leaning to either brass or nickel silver, but have no idea how thick to go or where to get it.

i got some brass sheet at the hardware store here...an ACE. they have a nice little selection tucked away in a corner. i bought something like 20 gauge, but i think i want to go a little bit thicker for when i get started on a folder.

the ACE that i bought mine from has everywhere from paper thin up to 1/4 inch thick.

i think i might go for some stainless though instead of brass, it won't tarnish as much as brass or nickel silver either.

Guess I'll have to look. I wonder if they'd have stainless window flashing. Any ideas on how thick? I was thinking 3/64", since that would be half the blade.
