Instead of one spring, there are two thinner ones . Isn't that a better solution? There should be less risk of breakage maybe .Why they do that ?
Lol, “a folder or two”, he says!I've made a folder or two, my mill relief jig is aluminum and about 10 years old. No problem with it.
As far lock backs I use a single spring.

"The double springs are cheaper to make. The edges of single springs had to be manually cleaned/buffed and it was too expensive. The new double springs are just stamped by press and no one ever touches them. I do not like them too much but I am not able to convince Mikov to go to the single springsSorry.![]()
