Can someone point me to a site or somewhere so I can see how a lot of folder makers are relieving the liners with a small mill . I have looked and looked can't find anything . I want to see a picture of the setup and how its done with a milling machine . I am clueless how this is done with a mill .

Thanks in advance

It is done with a rotary table and a small end mill. I made a fixture to hold the liners down using a 4" square piece of 3/4" steel. The filxture has a round button on the bottom to center it on the rotary table and a tapped hole on the top that is used to hold the liner with a screw through the pivot pin hole.

When my brother lets me use his mill I use a 1/4" ball end mill to make the channel. I haven't gotten around to making a fixture for my liners yet, so I just use little clamps to fix them to the table.

If I need to cut them and can't get to the mill I will use drum sanders on my dremel tool. I got good enough with this method that it works just about as well (although its a bit more nerver-wrecking).

Thanks Jim !
