I for one am anxiously awaiting a field report. *Stands with arms crossed and stern face* well, go on then! What are you waiting for? :D

Looks groovy M I really would like to know how that saw performs as I have an idea for a knife that would have some.

I have to admit, I am a little jealous. Can't wait to get a performance report. Very curious on how the saw performs.

Doing anything special with the sheath? I remember you said it would, or could, be carried Scout style.

What's not to love?

I like the way the full tang tapers down. I've never seen that on a knife. Is that just to lighten it a bit and give it a forward balance for chopping? Mac

PS I really like your website. I have it bookmarked.

As soon as I get her, I give her a good work out, and post a review. As for the sheath, it with be a leather horizontal carry (Scout Style) and also have a removable vert.belt loop. The sheath is also going to have a firesteel loop, even though I'm getting really good with my Bow & Drill. :D

Thanks Pic, its a work in progress ;)

Nice knife. One question on your bow and drill. Do you start a new one each time or getting good with just the one?

Paul,
I practice using alot of different wood, I have four or five different sets. :D

Looks great! Hope you enjoy it.

I have a Dave Beck WSK, and I have had alot of fun with it in the woods.

Sorry for the newbie question, but why do they call a horizontal carry "scout style"? And what are the benifits? If you carrying it at the small of your back wouldn't it hurt more if you fell/had to roll? And wouldn't it limit your grip options when your drew it?
Thanks
Mike

I have carryed my knives all the time vert and it becomes very annoying when walking up a step slope always having to reajust it, also sitting down drinking with friends getting caught up on chairs, jumping in and out of heilcopters I'm sick of it been caught up:grumpy: . I have not carryed one scout style yet, but if you were to full down I think the knife been uncoftable would be the last of your poblems. I will try scout style for sure once I have a sheath.
P.S. Myakka nice knife show some pics of the sheath when it's finished. :)

Temper,

Jamie Briggs is just finishing up the sheath, I have not handled the knife in person yet. I'm hoping to have the blade in my hands by the begining of next week. When I get it I will post afew photos and a mini review. :D

bringing up an old thread, but is there a review on this knife yet myakka. i'm standing on a knifes edge debating if i should order a wsk from mr. linger, with my own personal variations of course. but the basis of my design is this design. very curious as to hows its performing in all aspects of its design. also how is the sheath that was made for it? thought i read you were going to post a review, but when i saw the thread disapear i thought i'd just come out and ask.

my apologies, as soon as i hit post i thought i might look in the knife reviews and testing section, and behold just what i was looking for, the review.

my apologies again for bring this thread back from the dead.

logoboat,

Yes the review in posted there on the wilderness survival forums and on the review forums, and I also posted several of my reviews on my web page, Bushcraft Ways.
