Link Problems

Hoping someone can help me with my "link" problems. I've always just copied and pasted the URL of the BF page I wanted to link. But sometimes the link would change over time, and instead of going to the desired page, it would go to the page with the general list of subforums.

HHMoore then suggested I click on the #1 in the first post in the upper right hand corner of the page I was trying to link, which seems to change the URL somehow, and then copy and paste that as my link. That seemed to help, but I still sometimes getting the change in the link over time to where, as before, it simply goes to the general list of subforums page.

Recently I’ve also tried using the link symbol (at the top of the box where you create a post) which brings up a small box where you can fill in the URL, but it doesn’t solve the problem.

I’d appreciate any “link guidance”.

Thanks,

Andrew

Nordik Viking,

Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated. It looks like my typical login is with the "www." prefix but I'll check this carefully the next time I put up a post with links.

I'm in the middle of my annual benefit sale in the Traditionals sale subforum which involves lots of links (to other Parts of the sale), so this has been an ongoing issue. You can see in this example I have a lot of links! https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/afaustins-9th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale-part-7.1802579/ You can also see that the links have different appearances---some are just the URL while others include about 4 lines of type.

There's another weird aspect. After I put up the initial post, I'll check all the links. Usually some work and others don't. So I'll re-copy the URLs of the non-functioning links and re-insert them. This second try usually does the trick---even though I'm just doing what I did the first time.

Thanks again,

Andrew
