"Lion Hunter" in Red
Part of my Artifact Series The "Lion Hunter" in Red is similar to my Bengal, however, on this piece only the blade is file worked. My Artifact Series includes knives made with artifact or fossil material and in this case it is Mammoth Tooth and true red colors in Mammoth tooth are very rare. This is certainly a one of a kind since I'm sure I'll never be able to get mammoth tooth in this color again. Staying with the red theme, the handle is done in Australian Horistes Burl. The Damascus blade was heat colored to a beautiful magenta. Although the Damascus pattern is muted in the photographs, it was deep etched and polished out before heat coloring. It's very nice in person.
Note: I've posted this piece in a few locations online so the first "I'll take it gets it based on timestamp. A reply here precedes PMs and emails.
