"Lion Hunter" in Red

BFRedLionComp1.jpg

Part of my Artifact Series – The "Lion Hunter" in Red is similar to my Bengal, however, on this piece only the blade is file worked. My Artifact Series includes knives made with artifact or fossil material – and in this case it is Mammoth Tooth – and true red colors in Mammoth tooth are very rare. This is certainly a one of a kind since I'm sure I'll never be able to get mammoth tooth in this color again. Staying with the “red” theme, the handle is done in Australian Horistes Burl. The Damascus blade was heat colored to a beautiful magenta. Although the Damascus pattern is muted in the photographs, it was deep etched and polished out before heat coloring. It's very nice in person.

Note: I've posted this piece in a few locations online so the first "I'll take it” gets it based on timestamp. A reply here precedes PM’s and emails.

Randy,

If you like, you can just have your checks direct deposited into my account and I'll just get a pipeline of new designs coming your way. Like a "Knife of the Month Club"....Hmmmmm, whatcha think? :D;)

I agree with Denim! Whomever is so fortunate to snag this knife will love the twisted ribbon file work. It's what I have on my Bengal (yup, I was THAT lucky one), and the beauty of this design is even better in person than pics!! And what I like even better about the Lion Hunter listed now, is the damascus blade and tapered tang. I hope someone takes it soon, because my resistance is shriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinking! Paul

Bumping up................

Little reminder...this is a one of a kind piece. I dare anyone to be able find Mammoth Tooth again in burgundy and true red tones. It's amazing.

Wayne,
Great looking knife. The person buying this knife won't be disappointed. Gave Leland the mini hunter you made for him last night and said what a great knife you made and he loved the file work you did.
