lion steel 440c steel? anybody have experience with it i thought this was a lower quality of steel

It's more akin to AUS10, better than AUS8. I like 440C a lot. HT as always being key.While I don't have any personal experience with Lion Steel 440c, I wouldn't call 440C low quality. Its pretty similar to aus8, maybe you are confusing it with 440A. I have a few Bucks and Bokers in 440C and they are pretty decent, its not a modern super steel, but is a perfectly acceptable cutlery steel.
