Lion Steel Knives

I had a Sigtac Rangemaster that was a DAMN good knife. They were originally made by Lion Steel and the Sigtac knives sold for less than what they cost to make, or so that rumor goes.

Hello All - new to BF but not to owning (MANY) knives.

IMHO - LionSteel has some of the best products out there now, and it is my new go-to knife company. (Used to be BRKT, Benchmade, and anything D2)

I have an SR-1, M2, M3 (on which I cannot seem to dull the blade no matter what I chop/cut with it) a HEST Mil-Spec (Girlfriend's favorite back-packing knife) a TI Spine, and just got a DPX HEFT.

The blade steel, whether it is Niolox or Sleipner, or their D2 is amazing.

I have batoned at least half a cord of wood with my M3, cut rope, cord, sliced meat, bone, skin, hooves, tarp, plastic, and aluminum cans over the last 7 months, and it still slices tomato cleanly - and I JUST had to sharpen it to take it back to hair-shaving sharp!! (Get the WorkSharp Tools WSKTS Sharpener, it will save you lots of time getting a shaving-sharp edge on Niolox)

The only issue I have with LionSteel as a whole is the CRAPPY sheaths they have - no Kydex at all - but I have a great custom kydex guy so....

I will posts pics when I get my new M3 Kydex sheath back next week!

The SigTac was made by Fox Knives of Italy not LionSteel of Italy.

My buddy actually got one from a Sig armorer at a trade show. He was told Lion Steel made them for Fox, and when Sig went to them for knives they bought the entire production run rather than licensing a few at a time and got an insanely good deal on them in the process. Hard to believe Sig had them on clearance for $35 at one point. Had I known then what I know now I would have bought a handful of them.

My SigTac is different than the one in that thread but it could be that LionSteel made it for Fox which made it for SIG.
