Lion steel. Question

Lion steel sr2 says it comes with Sleipner steel I've never heard of it and blade hq has a sale which means I'm looking at it very closely. What does this steel compare with? What are the qualitys of this steel ?
Also any other knives compare with this one?

Without any actual hands on experience with it, glancing at it's makeup I would guesstimate it falls somewhere between d2 & a2.

I have a couple of DPx HEST knives in Sleipner and have owned it in other brands. It's fine. Reminds me a lot of VG-10, maybe a little harder to sharpen. A little easier to stain too, unless it's my imagination.

It's not some freak steel--it's used fairly widely....or was. No real negatives that I've encountered. Should serve you well.
