Lion Steel "Roundhead" Euro-Barlow

As an old man that shuffles around in his slippers a lot this new Shuffler and me should get along well. :D I am so glad you decided on a run with a clip point blade as I am very partial to single clip point knives (and yes I have one on reserve).
Mike I may have missed the answer to this question but what inspired you to have these very fine knives to be made.

Anyways we are here to talk about the round head and not Mike

I have asked him a few times if there is a possibility of a 2 blade. A Clip and a pen would be cool! But this clip will be awesome

It is no surprise that I love GEC knives. I am a slipjoint guy from a slipjoint background. But after fondling Lion Steel and Viper knives for a couple years, I really wanted their take on a slipjoint. These Italian makers are a lot like CollectorKnives - they are comparatively small companies that try and portray themselves as a bigger entity. Plus, Lion Steel has had the Blade Overall Knife of the Year for three years in a row now. People are giving me a lot of credit, but I just gave them general specs and let them run with it.

As far as specific inspiration, there are 5-6 patterns that I have always wanted to tweak just a little bit and introduce with a universally respected steel. I hope we can continue down that path.

I hope that you can continue down this path as well! This collaboration effort can open up some exciting new views on traditional pattern knives. I for one, am all in!

I think Mike & Lionsteel have started a whole new dimension in traditional knives& I know that I
am only one of many who feel it was long overdue.:)

Well stated and I couldn't agree more. I can't wait to see what else they might be cooking up in the future.

I would love to see some more patterns built by Lion Steel. I have an Opera in D2 that's a great knife never tried a Viper but I'll check them out on your site. Thanks for the answer.

Hey Mike do you know if the next run of pre-orders will be coming with slips?
The only reason I ask is my first round head came with one but not my second. If I would of known it I would of purchaced one . Btw im not complaining and grateful to have got one out of two :)
I also think it was very nice and thoughtful of you to give as many away as you did on the first run
Edit: My apologies Mike if already asked but is there a time frame of when the next run will be rolling into your hands and passed to ours :D

People really do get bent out of shape when Mike posts. I guess people are so used to mega-transnational-giganto-corporation PR speak that when a dude who runs his business speaks like a normal dude, it throws them off.

I'll admit the first time he directly replied to one of my posts, I wasn't quite sure how to take what he said, and that's coming from someone with a sense of humor as dry as the Sahara. But then I realized that A) he talks like that to everyone but doesn't have a malicious bone in his body, B) he's an upstanding businessman who loves our hobby and the people who share it, and C) regardless of whether you get his humor, he's one of the most engaged dealers on the forums.

Between all that and the fact that he's really dialed in on the niche market identified with the Euro Barlow, I'm definitely a fan.

Wow. Talk about a happy day. After 9 days of camping in the Adirondacks, with no cell phone reception, I returned today to civilization, and got the text message about the Shuffler reservation. I ordered up that canvas micarta clip point immediately. If there had been a quantity field, I would have ordered two of them. I love my Roundhead a lot, but I'm totally feeling the Shuffler. It just looks so absolutely perfect.

No plans for slips going forward. One is all that is needed, and a good percentage of folks got one with the first run. I gave away 100 more of the standard premium slip than I had planned when the special slips ran out. Any dates estimations will be on the Early Reserve page.

Fair enough Sir and thanks again for the first slip and looking forward to my next two slip-less Shufflers :p
Or more lol .

I agree about only one slip being needed. Back when I was collecting those other brand of knives that come with a slip each time I had a bunch of them piling up in my desk drawer.

I personally like having one for each knife especially if there different sizes so it doesn't stretch the leather in the wrong places. I like my slips to fit like a fine Italian Suit :D
For the same model knife a different slip isn't as important but still like it to have its own but that's how I roll :)
Yup I'll be the first to admit I like to accessorize lol . Each knife having its own slip is also nice for storage between its carry rotation keeping them safe .

I hear that I enjoy traditionals but they sometimes feel stagnant so often just the same thing in the same materials. I get that they are a great product still it just doesn't spark as much interest often for me plus I prefer the single blade knives which many traditionals are not. I do want to say I hope a single blade Swayback is a design you want to see with a bit of a modern twist it is a design I like for its great ergos and wonderful wharncliff blade.

I'd love to see a single blade Swayback, that style is one of my favorites. Personally, I'd like something size wise between the Case Swayback and the GEC 47. Titanium, M390 and rams horn of course!
