For once I totally agree. And I think its also a stretch to call a complete production knife "midtech" just because the designer is selling it exclusively. That would mean midtech has even less meaning that it did which honestly I wasnt aware was possible. I have seen people attribute it to the quality, the price and the production method and now who is selling it. Either way it seems pretty clear that Reate Prices keep going up as the designs get less involved. I simply dont feel the company has earned its stripes to do so. Especially with 0 support here in the states. Im gonna pass. Congrats on the new knife though.
$350 is quite steep for that knife, no matter how you cut it.
Will see how many don't sell to know if its over priced or not.
I'm reviving this thread because I happen to be alternating between a Warrior 1 and a ZT 0808 as my EDCs right. They are very similar in many ways - similarly sized ti framelocks with steel lock bar inserts 3"+ blades but not huge. I like them both very much. My 0808 is anodized blue handles so looks a little friendlier. Flips like a dream - very mechanical thunk into lockup. The Warrior 1 is a trickier flipper for me but I have figured out its sweet spot and it feels great. I will likely send it out to Rival 1314 to anodize the handles but it's now a keeper. Whether it was worth 1.5x the ZT is debatable but it works for me. Feels great in the hand... If Reate does a new knife in the 3" range I'm in. Though a 0450 is calling my name right now.
