Guys I have a CK Lionsteel Shuffler reserved,any info on Bocote wood is appreciated. Density,grain,water or sweat resistant etc. Thanks

Wood database is the best place for wood information on the net.

Another site with the weird name of www.hobbithouseinc.com has more information and a lot of pictures of wood species showing the variations you find.

Bocote is one of my favorites. Comes in a lighter and a darker forms, the lighter does darken some over time. Very nice wood. I have a small piece of the birds eye bocote - really cool - for a future project of some sort.

I have two ordered in bocote from CK, roundhead and the shuffler.

Mike, if you read this, could you have them make my shuffler with the birdseye bocote !

I suggest checking out other knives in Bocote too so you can get an idea of what it looks like. The grain pattern is very pretty.
