Places that have a good selection of a wide array of good knives, along the lines of House of blades near Dallas. Trying to stay away from obvious lackluster places like Wal mart or bass pro shops.

I'm especially interested in Virginia, but I know a lot of people probably would like to see what's close to them, too.

Agree, I would like to know some more knife shops, good knife shops, here in Virginia. Used to be you could find a Hoffritz or Remington store in a mall, like Springfield mall or Fair Oaks Mall in Northern VA. While on vacation in Bar Harbor in Maine, I found a store that looked like it would have all the foreign junk, but inside was the GOOOD stuff such as Helle, Kabar, Spyderco, etc. I was really pleased and had a lot of fun that day.

I travel for work all over California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. One of my favorite things to do is look for the best knife shop in town and see if they have something I couldn't have found anywhere else. Here's some of the best I've seen so far:

Recon 1 - Tarzana California
Blade HQ - Lehi, UT
Knives Ship Free - Hillsboro, OR
Bonds House of Cutlerly - Las Vegas, NV

I haven't been there myself but I hear New Graham Knives is the place to go in the Virginia area. I've heard enough about it to know you might want to check into it.

I cant remember the name right off, but there is a small knife shop in Williamsburg ran by a sweet old lady. Mostly cold steel, kabar, and ontario. A few spydercos. And only fine knives is in clarksville. Not sure about a store front though.

There was a discussion awhile back about stores in Northern Virginia. Use the Search function or Google 'knife stores in northern va' and you'll find it.

Classic Edge out of Midlothian near Richmond are good guys and I see them at most of the gun shows.

Thanks for the tip on the store in Williamsburg. I travel there several times a year. I was recently in TN. Smokey Mountain Knife Works has a huge selection. The knowledge of the staff is hit or miss. In Florida The best I've found so far is Razor Sharp Unlimited in Port Richey. The service is fantastic and they have quite an inventory from ZT, Spyderco, Benchmade, customs, Microtech, William Henry, Esse, White River Knives etc. You name it he probably has it or can get it.

Moving to Feedback.
Sales, stores, and selling related discussions belong in the Exchange section only.
General Knife Discussion is for discussing knives themselves.

I live in Los angeles, San Gabriel Valley area. I only know of one place to look for quality knives, is at the Puente Hills Mall the store is called "Pure Blades".
Half the store is knockoffs, but in the very back of the store they have ZT, Buck, Spyderco, Benchmade, etc.
The only way you can tell the prices is to ask the person behind the counter to show you the price tag, their prices are higher.

Rappy, you've got to check out Recon 1 in Tarzana. You can find their website if you google search them. If you like Benchmade, Spyderco, Chris Reeve, ZT or Kershaw it's the best place in so. Cal to visit. Great people, and although the knives are labeled at list price, they discount nearly every knife to the same prices you find online. Not a big selection of fixed blades, but the folder selection is fantastic. They were the #1 Benchmade dealer in the country a couple of years ago and they have a really good relationship with BM. Their Benchmade selection is 10 full 6 foot wide shelves. You can also see about 150 custom folders there too. It's worth the 40+ minute drive from San Gabriel Valley to check it out some time.

If you're in VA, take a trip to New Graham. If you're on the VA/MD border, drive up to Edgeworks in Frederick MD. If you're on the VA eastern shore, drive up to south western Delaware and visit Willey Knives.
