List of Knock-off crap brands

As most of these knives look very similar to the original knives, but not identical, I don't think the factories use the same dies and molds.

I think, on some models, they do. Take for example this "mix & match" knock-off disaster:

The EKI Commander meets the CRKT KFF. Look carefully and you will see that the cutout for the "LAWKS" mechanism (CRKT exclusive) is still present, although this knock-off has no "LAWKS" lever, which is indicative of the knock-off company having access to the exact same mold as the original CRKT KFF mold.

Knifezilla gets me every time, some of the knives are actually funny. BudK not only carries knock-offs, they actually carry knock-offs of knock-offs. I saw a set that included a folder and FB that were identical to Dark Ops products. The only problem with bashing BudK is that they still carry some respectable brands, Boker being best among them.

I am really surprised that Jaguar(FORD) has not put a cease and desist order against them for using the Jaguar name to sell crap products........maybe someone should inform Ford about this...LOL

Yeah, Maxam seems to have taken over Ebay. It looks like the drop shippers brand of choice.

When looking at the photo I have to agree that the handle design of the EKI Commander
and the CRKT KFF seems to be identical.

But with all the outsourcing and component sub-outsourcing to external companies it's really
difficult to determine the source of any product parts, especially when outsourcing to China ;)

Andy,
Actually, the knifezilla knock-off has the handle of the CRKT KFF, down to even the "LAWKS" cutout (absent the "LAWKS" mechanism), and the blade of the Emerson Commander, down to the "wave" feature.

It is the handle in particular that I was speaking of, as it has the "LAWKS" cutout, but no "LAWKS" mechanism. If the mold was different from the actual mold CRKT uses, the "LAWKS" cutout wouldn't be there, on the knock-off, as there is no "LAWKS" mechanism on the knockoff.
