I generally do a search for some discontinued knives but am not toally sure if the site is ligit or not. It be nice to have a list of online knife dealers that are reputable and will not do something like steal my credit card information or something crazy? Anyone got anything? All I have is Newgraham and Your Corner Store.

Check out the Feedback subforum,http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=699 if you find a website with what you want do a search in there for feedback, I've ordered from both of the two you mentioned, the only problem I've had is that yourcornerstore doesn't actually have the knives there with them so if its something that says its in stock but its below say 10 it might not actually be in stock, I ordered something that was "in stock" but wasn't shipped for 3 months.

It partially depends on the specific knives you're after.

If you care to mention what specific knives you're looking for, I think you might receive better guidance from the members here.

I'm looking for a Benchmade Skirmish and a PE Spyderco Ocelot.

Wow...the Skirmish has been gone from dealers' shelves for a while now.
Folks scooped them up (as well as the Mini Skirmish) when word got out that they were being discontinued.

Same with the Ocelot, sorry to say. And that one wasn't a big stock item to
begin with.

Looking for those knives, I'd keep a close eye on eBay and various other sites such as gunbroker.com.
Also, I'd check the Exchange here on BF regularly.

There's no one I'm aware of who's a dealer for those types of OOP knives.
Perhaps someone else does and will respond to this thread.

Do a google product search for the items you want. Any decent size company will have a bunch of reviews, so click on the reviews link under the price and see what people think about them. Heck, we are tiny and I think we have something like 50 reviews.

If they have one star reviews, read them and see why they were only worth one star. Check and see how recent the reviews are too. If they have 1000 reviews and 95% are five stars but the last 10 are 1-2 star, then do some more research. Calling a business and talking to someone there is always a good idea too, since a simple conversation can speak loads about a company.

some good ones i have purchased from:

tadgear.com
knifeart.com
knifecenter.com
arizonacustomknives.com
steeladdictionknives.com
plazacutlery.com
moorecutlery.com
truenorthknives.com

i haven't purchased from these, but they have exellent reputations:

bladeart.com
edcknives.com
robertsoncustomcutlery.com

Oops!

NewGraham
Knifeworks
Knifecenter
Jaysknives

Are all companies that I've ordered from and would recommend. Jay often carries discontinued models of many brands. Didn't see any Skirmishes or Ocelots though.
