I know there are alot of you out there with collections of really nice balisongs, but I am just starting a collection and I'm on a pretty small budget. As time progresses, I'm sure I'll find myself searching through auctions for Benchmade customs, but at the moment I am just interested in getting my hands on a few balisongs of any type just to look them over and compare them. Can someone compile a list of websites that sell balisongs? Here is my current list. Please look it over and add to it or note any page updates that may have occured since these pages were in use. Thank you very much.

1. http://www.knifezilla.com (various pages)

2. http://www.onestopknife.com (Dragon Forge/Jaguar and Benchmade)

3. http://www.usknife.com/folding3.html (Bear, Jaguar(?), cheapies)

4. http://www.popularlink.com (First they said they were Rostfreis, now they say Jags, I don't think they know what they are. Anyway, does anyone know where I can still get those $8.95 Kamakazi (I think that's how they misspelled it) with the Micarta looking inserts? They don't seem to carry them anymore. Here's what I believe the old page is: http://www.popularlink.com/knife/butterfly/ or something like that. And another one, probably older: http://home.sol.no/~kimanton/butterfly.html Man this is confusing.)

5. http://www.familydefense.com/knives-5.htm (Some cheapos and what appear to be real Jags)

6. http://www.superiormartialarts.com/catalog/uniform/escrimabutterfly.html (A few balisongs, inlcuding the ever popular Jags. Anybody know about that $30 bali with the vented handles? Looks alot like the $13 Black Diamond bali from knifezilla, only with silver handles.)

7. http://www.skm.to/balisong.html (I know these are probably not worth the price, but what do the rest of you think? And can anyone tell if this is the latest page? I have found a few other pages with about the same prices and the same "send payment to" name and address such as http://www.switchblades.it/ so I have no clue.)

Anyone else know of any more sites that sell balisongs online, other than Benchmades? I just simply can't afford one of them right now. I'm not all too interested in value, I just want to see what all is out there. Again, thanks alot.

Strike PopularLink, unless you (for some bizarre reason) can't get <a href="http://www.discountknives.com/">Discount Knives</a>. As far as I can tell, exactly the same varieties of cheapies, but lower prices, higher quality, larger selection, and from a company highly appreciated on BF. I believe a search of my posts in this forum will flesh out my opinion of PopularLink better.

As for the "Kamakazi" (surprisingly enough, I made this same misspelling back when I was a kid), it's pretty bad. I ordered two a while ago. One was assembled such that the handles above the pivots struck each other. Even after significant filing, the handles often stick at right-angles to either side of the blade (imagine a T). The black paint (I had ordered chrome, but anyway) flaked off quickly. The design is basically knurled cylinders for handles, solid, no inserts. I could send the non-functional one if you'd really want a piece of junk.

Thanks for the new link. That's 8 pages of non-Benchmade 42s.

And I think I'll keep looking for one of the, oh I'm gonna spell it right, Kamikaze knives that is working and preferably in new condition. I guess I'm crazy for wanting to collect all these cheap balisongs that aren't worth anything, but I guess we all can't collect rare masterpieces, eh? I'll call it the Poor Man's Balisong Collection. Maybe people will want to have a look just for novelty purposes. Who knows. Anyone else have any more sites in mind?
