List of things that cause war on BF

Discussing any popular knife made (or designed/sold) by someone of questionable character.....

Cold Steel, Strider, Mad Dog, Ontario, etc,etc

Bark River/Mike Stewart seems to be the latest one.

Also. not a war-starter but a pet peeve of mine: "Get a Sebenza!"
No matter what the poster is looking for: "Get a Sebenza!"

" I need a small fixed-blade neck knife, not over $50."
"Get a Sebenza!"

"Looking for a 19" hog hunting knife..."
"Get a Sebenza!"

Also Bark River..
From now on, if you need any kind of folding knife, "Get a Sebenza!"
If it's a fixed blade of any kind, "Bark River..."

I have nothing against CRK nor BRKT, but Geez!...

i too was tired of hearing that all the time, so i got a sebenza.:D

how about HOW sharp it is right out of the box, does it really matter? eventually,if used it will need to be sharpened

Fixed VS. Folder for edc??

What's a good first knife?

D2 steel any good ?

- Carbon Steel VS Stainless Steel. We all know that SS sucks badly though... they won't hold an edge, are brittle and fragile as hell and a burden to sharpen.... :foot:

And carbon steel will rust away to nothing if you look at it wrong.:D

The endless steel debate. Stating that X steel is "better" or "higher end" than Y steel, even if it's a generally accepted fact, instead of just agreeing that different people like different grades of steel, and "low end" and "high end" aren't VALUE judgements!

For example:

User 1: "420HC is a low-end steel that doesn't hold an edge."
User 2: "What? 420HC will chew up S30V and spit it out ANYDAY!"
User 1: "But it's a low-end steel."
User 2: "Who cares, it's all the heat treat, and ______ does a GREAT heat-treat."
User 1: "But it's a low-end steel."
User 2: "Yeah well S30V is garbage, and chips if you breathe on it!"
User 1: "Have you ever owned a S30V knife?"
User 2: "What? No! Why would I waste money on a knife that chips if you breathe on it?"

Haha!!:D:thumbup: That's the best summary of the steel debate I've seen so far. Its also hilarious.:)

Is the Ritter Grip really that much better than the regular Griptilian?

Is the cost of the Ritter Grip really worth it?

My liner lock knife closed on my hand because I was using it as a hammer, so that means that all liner locks are worthless.

Hey buddy, next time use a hammer.:D lol. I,ve been thinking of getting a mini grip myself. Would like to handle on first.

LOL, I use my axis lock knives for hammers, since those darn liner locks are untrustworthy :D.

There's a couple (hundred or so) threads of how great those mini grips are. I like the larger version myself, but to-each-his-own.

Whats the mention about Mike Stewart's "questionable" character? Ive read alot here, and never seen anything about that...I do like his Bark Rivers, and some of the old BlackJacks...whats the dirt there?
