Here is my list of the best folding knives of all time. As far as some manufacturers have several models which simply could be counted among the best it is reasonable to nominate only one model of each manufacturer. The term – best – could be considered in terms of:
1. popularity
2. price
3. design
4. innovation
5. blade steel material
6. durability
7. functionality
8. size

My 10 favorites:
1. Benchmade: Griptilian 551

Cold Steel: Mini AK-47
Kershaw: Chive/Leek
Benchmade: 551/556
Spyderco: Everyone has a tenacious it seems. I'll put that OVER the Para-2 just for that reason
BUCK: 110
Victorinox: Pioneer (basically a soldier seeing how the soldier is no-more. \
CASE: Sodbuster/SB JR

Right now, those are the only brands I like......
I bought a SOG and was extremely disappointed

Sebenza is excellent knife....but not in terms of price and popularity. The highest price does not automatically means the best. The thread is about the best knives for the price.

I'd 2nd a CRK as the best knife for the best price. I have a Umnum though, not a Sebbie.

the sebenza is the most high value knife i own. it has the fit, finish and quality of many $900 customs at less then half price. and as you use the forum you will realize how many people own CRK's.

The Sebenza is the best knife for the price to imbryan715. Why open a thread asking for members opinions and then tell them their opinions are "wrong"???

No doubt a large group of people would say that your Endura pick is wrong and the the PM is a better value...same with your Blur pick.

Making up rules as we go along eh?

Please don't accuse me of being ignorant toward your opinion. Your opinion is very important fo me. But at the same time plaese give me possibility to comment your opinion :)

I just cleared it up that the thread is not about an extra-overpriced knives. I own large Sebenza too but can't count it among those very popular knives of all time. Popularity is not defined only by the number of the forum members who can afford CRK prouducts. What is the share of the all forum members owning Sebenze in the world knife sells?

It is only my opinion :)

If its so important...why say it's wrong?

Maybe you can tell us what knives you deem overpriced, then we can play by your rules.

over priced knives for me are the FRN spyderco's. its a fair steel, cheep liners, a simple cheep lock, plastic scales and they are made in japan.

( yes i realize this will get a lot of hate. )

I would have to agree on the Sebenza. People who has never seen one in person, touched it, or used it will always knock on it saying the knife is overpriced. IMO the product is a very clear reflection of its price.

Ok, I'm getting the popcorn.

i have the day off work and im waiting for a shipment from blade hq with a large sebenza 21, leatherman ps4 and a surefire e2d. so i will be in here passing time for the next 2 hours and i cant wait! its better than most of the crap on TV
