List what you personally think are the top 10 production knife makers in the world

Surprised to see everyone left SOG off the list. I think that if we considered pre-Taiwan SOG (I guess 90s or before) they were top notch. Recent stuff has been crap though.

From my limited experience and in no particular order:

Spyderco
Victorinox
Case
Boker
Busse
Chris Reeve
Benchmade
Kershaw
Fallkniven
Great Eastern Cutlery

This is my list in no particular order. This reflects the companies as of current products.

- benchmade
- spyderco
- microtech
- zero tolerance
- fox cutlery military division
- esee
- kabar
- Ontario cutlery
- Kershaw
- sog

No order, but:

Spyderco
Benchmade
Boker Solingen
Chris Reeve
Strider
Zero Tolerance
GEC
Microtech
Al Mar
Hinderer

Im only gonna name one that surprises me no one has listed yet..

Fehrman. they are the best outdoor knives I have ever used.

The others have been listed.

Well , the original question was: "List what you personally think are the top 10 production knife makers in the world" !
Klötzli and Rockstead are simply on another level of precision than standard good quality production folders, they can easily stand next to Chris Reeve products.

Excluding "Production knives by a custom maker I.e. Production XM-18 etc." in quality of product in my opinion:

1. Chris Reeve - Sets Production folder standard with Sebenza although I Sold mine and kept the Umnumzaan since the sebenza didnt do it for me
2. Spyderco - can put excellent knives in your hands and not a huge hurt on your wallet
3. Benchmade - Equal to spyderco but i question their prices enough that it drops them a bit lower on the list.
4. ZT branch of Kershaw - while kershaw as a whole is excellent, even ZT's lower end 700 is a great blade and right around 100 bucks.
5. Kershaws main line - goot products but i've had iffy experiences with their lower end stuff.
6. Strider - Product is well intentiond but of 3 i've owned only 1 did i keep and use because the blade was centered etc. solid product but quality control might need steppoing up.
7. Case - American Standard nothing else to say. I have my grandpas that he used in Korea. its 2011 and still looks good and functions well..
8. Cold Steel - if they added more steel options they'd be higher but they do wonderful things with the AUS-8 they use.
9. Microtech - would be #2 if their customer service didnt suck.
10. William Henry - A bit too pricey for some of their items but awesome none the less.

Honorable mentions : Al Mar (Not enough variety) Emerson(Offer a v-grind and I'll buy another) Surefire(Too expensive with good intentions) Boker (Good product i just dont seem to buy the right ones, too broad a spectrum although my subcom with silver twill potterma scales is a sweet little knife)

Interesting input. I'll have to check them out. Those brands were previously unknown to me...
