List Your "Bases-Covered" Knives

Yup, the Rajah 2 is big and heavy, but remember, it doubles as my work knife. I use it to knock rust from steel, scrape a little paint, and check for wood rot. Sure, I could use a smaller knife but a smaller knife wouldn't have the reach of the Rajah 2 for the out of reach places. Also, as a weapon for self defense, I believe that it's intimidating enough that it'll give pause to an attacker enough for me to get away. Also, this Rajah 2 used to be my general outdoors knife, before I decided a fixed blade would be better. Besides, it's still lighter than a fully loaded gun or my laptop, or alot of stuff that i bring with me everyday.

From the looks of the condition of these knives in the photos, most of our big adventures never leave the armchair.

work edc: tanto large sebenza
sheeple friendly edc: burger lexk
self defense folder: benchmade 860 bedlam

thats about all i use. i've got an 805 tsek too but it doesn't really fit a role at the moment, i'd sell it but it was a gift. i didn't sell the rest of them because i didn't like them, i just didn't need them anymore

Well, every knife I own serves a purpose and gets used - and I just recently updated my list, so here goes...

Sorry Sulaco, you gotta follow the rules like everyone else:

This isn't a "list your knives" thread. Only list one knife that covers a specific base for you that best fills that particular need. Most of us knife nuts will have multiple to fulfill any given need, but let's see your #1 knive in that category.

Only list the best knife in a category - you have like 8 EDC knives listed. Which is your #1 choice for EDC?

folders: Large blackwood Sebenza + Vic electrician's apprentice plus niteize clip

I'm having a hard time justifying more purchases after these:)

Cold Steel Mini AK-47
Benchmade Mini Griptilian 556
Spyderco Delica 4 FFG

All I need is ONE of those and all my bases are covered. Minimalism for the win.

SAK in pocket as EDC friendly multitool, and Spyderco Delica clipped to pocket for one handed opening. These cover all of the bases that I want in a knife, except for hunting. For hunting I'd add a Buck 110.

Pocket - SAK Recruit
Belt - Leatherman Wave or SAK Swisstool
Large - Original Kabar
Chopper - Ontario 12" machete

Not sexy, but gets the job done!

LMAO, I had the same thought :D

I love when those "hard use" folders look like they've barely cut a sheet of paper, much less been put through hard use..

Back on topic though, my basis are covered like this:

EDC: Whatever I happen to choose that day. Currently it's been my ZT350

Leatherman Wave

Just because the pics were taken when the knife was new, doesn't mean it's new anymore.

I don't have a lot of "bases", just work (warehouse and garden/woods at home), hiking/camping, and a folder for when it's needed. Izula 2 and large Sebenza 21 pretty much cover all of those bases, although I'm finding some pocket time for a new small Bone Collector folder now and then. That spearpoint D2 is really nice.

But if I could only have 2 blades, it'd be the Izzy 2 and the large Sebbie.
