Lite Machete Question?

Why do you guys like micarta handles so much?

I have them on my Tops Steel Eagle and honestly not a big fan of them. They seem to absorb/hold water if touched with wet hands... Not a feature I like really.

It took me long than 5 minutes for me to get the handles how I liked them. I put them on my belt grinder first and rounded and thinned them out. I took a round file and contoured it more. After I got the handles like I wanted I used 2 ton epoxy to permanently seal and attach the handles.

I have never had micarta handles absorb water. The material is sealed with resin like firberglass is. I don't see it absorbing water.

Just got home, I'll post pics soon. Lite did awesome, cleared thron bushes and low libs back to the camp site, even chopped up some small wood to get the fire going. I'm going to thin out the handle a bit too though I think

I love mine now that I thinned it out. I would take pics but the only camera I own is on my phone.

I like micarta cuz the guy passing out the kool-aid told me it's great!

Lite machete is nice. I enjoy mine. Only bit of dislike is the thinner blade tends to be harder to unstick than some of my thicker machetes. But that's just technique and style. I like to just roll or twist to unjam, and that isnt as effective with a thinnner more flexible machete.
