• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Leuku a little over 1/8"

The Jarvenpaa Leuku is a nice one.

KGD, a bit of flex is a good thing unless you are prybarring :D

Barberphobic: I'm making more, this one is going to go up once I finish file work and get Sierra on the sheath.

tonym: I'm gonna make more. I find I like the long clip point with the thumb ramp a lot.

I'm glad we got a lot of pictures on the thread, that's what I was hoping for. That brush hook mod was cool.

Forgive the little guy in there:

OAL - 13 1/8"
Cutting edge length - 8"
Spine to edge at widest - 2 1/8"
Handle - Desert camo paracord

I have one of the old Becker Khukri's thats pretty thin and is a cutting machine.

Illbruche I sent you a message on your farmer.

barrabas, thanks for reminding me...

my CS kukri (i think its an LTC) is only 1/8" thick, but its a real chopper. a few weeks ago i took down a 5 inch maple no problem. from start to finish, including limbing, it took about 15 minutes. it almost counts as a machete though since it is pretty long...

sorry, no action pics...

That's not a machete. :D

I wonder where you do draw the line, though. When I get an 11 inch longknife done, as a narrow belly leuku, is it a machete?

i think that machete has almost as much to do with materials and price point as it does size.

that's one of the reasons i wondered if a 12" machete made with high quality steel with fine micarta handles could still be called a machete with a price point around 100 bucks...

but yeah i don't know, its all fuzzy...like the difference between a bowie and a fighter...
