What is the upper size limits of a bar of steel or Damascus you would want to forge on a,
25lb Little Giant?
50lb Little Giant?

Dave,

The listed maximum height is two inches on a 25 and 3 inches on a 50. But I've seen three inch billets forged on a 25 with no problem. I've also seen Sid (the owner of Little Giant Hammers) take a lower die from a 25#er and forge it to a quarter inch round bar under a 25# hammer. A properly adjusted 25 will do most anything you want.

That gave me the parameters I was looking for.
Does Sid have a waiting list? I will be giving him a call in the near future. The finance are in place and the steel is waiting.

Just to add to what Dave said. I've forged 3" tall x 1.5" wide billets under my 25, and 2" round W2 with no trouble. I have no dought the 25 will handle larger, would just take a bit longer to get it done.
