Little help on a Puma White Hunter

Wait. So Winnetou is a fictional Native American hero of several novels written in German by Karl May (1842–1912), one of the best selling German writers of all time with about 200 million copies worldwide, including the Winnetou-tetralogy. "American frontier" kinda stuff.

But in a movie Winnetou carries a knife was developed in 1956?!?

Yes,the movies were made in 1960's and features this blade

The point is not that the movies were made in the 1960's, its that the blade design was made in the 1950s.

They could have easily used a replica of a period-correct design.

I guess that "period-correct" didn't stop anybody in The Iron Mistress either.

If it hadnt been for that stinker, we wouldnt have had all those horrible sword-like 'Bowie' knives wildly exaggerated clips.

That movie cause spurred a misguided belief in regards to what constituted a 'Bowie knife,' which was carried down through generations.

People so hell bent on defending their investment, that they threatened to sue others if they dared question the validity of certain knives or a certain knife being THE Bowie knife.

And people bought into that 'carp' hook, line and sinker. Ahh, the power of Hollyweird.....

Mr. Bowie would have thought fondly at his super simple butcher knife from the Sandbar and would have shaken his head in disbelief.
