They are great pics bro, looks like you had a great time !
I have always liked those Pasayten knives and I have heard they are pretty light to carry as well , I guess they would also work well for food prep.
How old is your son he looks about my sons age maybe a little younger !
Your kids kits look real good as well by the way !!!
My son is eight, he's been hiking and camping all the way back to about 9 months before he was born

what kind of mora is that?
That's correct, it's a Military Mora clipper. I though long and hard on this one. I wanted to get a decent fixed blade for them, nothing too expensive, but capable to do most of the camp chores...I still need to instruct them on accountability and maintaining their gear as well. Over the last couple of years, they've both received the smaller Benchmade Griptillians (Purple for the daughter, light greenish/yellow for my son; of course they both have a SAK as well

Like most kids, they're just plain hard on everything! What's nice about the set up is that I've already purchased about a half-dozen of the little Mora's (just put a patina on the two they carry), so if by accident they lose the knife, it's an easy replacement (it won't be easy punishment

. Additionally, if they don't take care of their knife; keep it clean or dry, it'll show with that higher carbon blade...gotcha

Of course my son is much better than my daughter...he takes it all very seriously and blow me away with how responsible he can be.
I will tell you, the knife I really like is the small RAT 3. Those are great blades for outdoor-mature kids. I'm just going to wait a while before they get dropped in the 'ol Christmas stocking.
