Little knife carriers, what's your poison?

In the hotter parts of the year I sometime EDC my Spur.

It's nice to see that someone else appreciates this tremendously under-appreciated model! What a great knife!!

When it comes to small knives, I prefer traditional slipjoint patterns. The smallest Spydies I have that see carry time are the lava and rookie. The byrd Wings Slipit's about the same handle length as the rookie, but it's so much thicker that it doesn't feel small.

I solve the problem by carrying both a large and a small knife, and using whichever I feel is appropriate. Keep a Stretch or C83 Persian in my back pocket and a Kiwi in my watch pocket. Most times the choice of which to use is dictated by what needs to be cut. Occasionally it's a concession to the sensibilities of others in my environment, though that rarely ever happens now that I'm retired. Still, most days, the Kiwi sees more use than the bigger blade.

Pretty much the same for me...except when rambling in the outdoors...my favorite wee inoffensive spydie is my pretty red Salsa.

Kopa, most of the time. I also have a SS Kiwi that I like a lot, and a Caly 3 when I'm willing to carry a bit more bulk.

Usually a red bone Kiwi. Carries quite easy and is a very useful design.

I feel sorry for anyone who didn't buy a Lava before the discontinued them. You might not get it until you hold one, but these are the coolest little knives I've ever seen.

I arm myself with this when I'm not allowed to be armed...

How's the Kopa holding up? Mine is looking quite scratched up on the bolsters.

I know that knives WILL get nicked up, but I was a little bummed at all the scratches on the bolsters.

I'm going to try some things to see if they can be buffed out. What can I say, I like to keep my spydies as pristine as possible, esp the kopa.

For me the perfect small EDC is the D4. I have a D'Fly and I'll be damned if I can warm up to it. It's just too small for me. Same goes with my Nav II. The delica gives you just enough to hold onto and is very slim in the hand. can't say enough good about it.

The only small ones that have ever felt right to me is the Mouse and Navigator.

Well, they do get scuffed -- hard to avoid if you carry and use it. The first couple of marks stand out, then it seems (to my eye) to get a bit more even as it gets used, and develops a bit of overall "pocket patina."

Scratches on the bolsters... ahh, that's just character marks. :D

My redbone Kiwi is covered with them. The bolsters and end cap have become so scratched up it might have been shot-blasted. No worries. Blade, lock up and bone are still in good order. Only the first couple scratches hurt.
