Just got this little guy in the mail yesterday. The blade combo is perfect for me and is very small at 3 1/4 long, great to pair up with my bigger viper to cover all my needs. Feel free to post up and share your own little two blade knife :)

That's interesting. I usually only see that knife as a 3-blade, or with 2 blades on the same end. Do you have a top-down shot?

I will get you a top down shot in about an hour, riding between jobs.

It is an unusual setup. Both nicks on the same side and single spring. I can open the sheepsfoot by pinching the blade and running the frame against my leg. Me likey a lot :)

Very cool little knife for sure & can't say I've seen one with that blade combo before. Good score!

Nice little Imperial. A Tang stamp pic would be nice to tell when it was made.

The '2-blade stockman' reference may tell all, as an original and unique pattern. I think I've seen these single-spring patterns also described as 'half-stockman' patterns, as originally manufactured on one spring.

No tang stamp on this little guy. Wonder if it was a stockman at some time?

It probably was a stockman at first, probably a 787 pattern. It's easy to convert these old Imperials. The bolsters have a tab that folds over to hold it in place. Once the bolster cover is removed, it's not that hard to remove the old blade and replace the cover. Colonials were somewhat set up the same way.

would we consider it as a farmer jack? don't fully know what categorizes one as such but from those I have seen, they usually have a sheep/spay combo in a serpentine pattern

I'm leaning toward a mod on that one. Looks like they removed the clip blade, and left the outer scale. Cool mod.

My favorite little jack is this 3.15" pre WWII Robeson in butter and molasses celluloid.

Another favored old Robeson, this is a swell center pen with tip bolsters at 3.06 inches.

Very nice Jeff! I need to start hunting for a Robeson. I always love the bone when I see one. How is the steel? Build quality?

When you get a chance, search the net for Imperial Knife Catalog 1959. Download the PDF and go to page 43 (of 69), The 787 pattern is top right. The actual catalog page is 214.

The first result is the pdf. Downloaded it and it goes from page 213 to 220 something.

A Jackmaster stockman with pen blade and spring removed. They left the brass center scale in there to one side as a spacer. Late 1960's to early 1970's.
