Little two blade knife

I need to start hunting for a Robeson. How is the steel? Build quality?

Jeff, these old Robesons are top notch in every way. Excellent F&F and perfect 5 pulls with great snap. The carbon steel sharpens easily to a fine edge, much like older CV, so probably not as hard as Schrade's 1095. I believe the butter & molasses was unused and unsharpened when I got it, and the pen still has 95%+ blades. Not bad for 80+ year old knives. I can highly recommend Robeson ShurEdges.

Need is such a subjective word! Of course, everything has a price ;)

Codger, any chance of a pic? Do the nail nicks match positions with the original?

Glenbad may have the stockman. No, sorry, no pictures. Our catalog collection ends earlier than that. Look in the circa 1970 Belknap catalog.

Just got this little gem in the mail today.
Gilbert Saville Works LTD.
The books list Gilbert under Stauffer Eshelman 1828-1914.
