Well, Jake had to go and show his pictures, so I have to get mine posted!
We did a short trip to Colorado Bend State Park here in central Texas. Unbelievably, we were able to have an open fire!!!
The camp site was pretty simple, but had a nice rock wall at the back; this is me looking down into the camp site:
The wife used her MK2 to get our sheep-herder stew prepared. I used my Koyote Leuku and BRKT Golok to do some minor splitting/battoning and making shaving for the fire.
(for those that are wondering why her hair is green, well, she told her students that if they made a class average of 90% on their academics test, she would dye her hair greenl...she lost the bet…she only did the front, but she does get strange looks)
My wife thought she was being sneaking and catching me as I was looking for a good base for a fireboard…
Both the kids slept in their hammocks…they still need to work on getting them put up by themselves, but they slept well!
To be continued….
