Good Littlebearknives.com Pyroceramic Glass Platens

Steve at littlebearknives.com has been my supplier for pyroceramic glass platens ever since I started using them, and his customer service is top notch. He is friendly, helpful, ships promptly, and his product is excellent. The platens come in any size you want (he will cut custom sizes not listed on the site for you), and hold up well to my unorthodox, rough and tumble grinding technique. Even when they begin to chip or crack, they hold up a good long while, and I usually have to retire them before they fail. I had two fail in the last couple years, but I one of those I installed improperly, and one I had used hard, and for much longer than I would have expected to. But even when they start looking chipped or cracked I can easily get consistent bevels for a good long while. They are certainly worth their price tag.
