Hey guys. I'm milling up a big slab of ipe burl, and the live edge of the burl is that very interesting pins and valleys surface. I have seen a few makers who preserve live edge as a butt cap. Is that something you guys do?

Would it interest you? The pricing would be the same, And the total size of the clean wood would be identical

Yeah, I saw your pics on instagram for it.
I really like the idea of live edge, but for a knife, it's just not that practical I think.
Maybe there is a creative way to employ it. ...?

I mentioned it on your Instagram post, but it could potentially be interesting if the live edge was on the end of the block. Something along the lines of a sculpted handle on a larger Bowie with a bit of the live edge on the butt.
I've never done it so I'm not sure how it'd turn out.
But it's about the only way I could really see using it other than grinding the live edge off or making one of those resin cast hybrid scale things.
Its something where if someone gave me a block I'd try it out, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy a block like that
