Live from the deer stand

These pictures are amazing! You guys have gotten me super excited for this year. Due to the generosity of a good friend of mine, I've been able to hunt on private land in Illinois' for about 8 years now. But this year, I got an invitation to hunt the first shotgun season in the "golden triangle" on some land that hasn't been hunted in years. It's just s few weeks away and I'm really looking forward to it! I have no expectations and M just looking forward to the adventure. Thanks to you guys for sharing some beautiful pics of your view from the stand. I hope you have a great season!

We have "golden triangle" in Texas also... I actually used to run a place down there.

I am not a hunter, so my level of appreciation for these pics is probably much lower than many folks on this forum. However, I think the photography is incredible and I really liked the picture of the doe and fawn. Thanks for sharing and good luck!!

Absolutely stunning photo.

Here is one of mine from a few years back when I was hunting with a lens alone.

Terrible photo but this lil guys in the backyard. Piney woods area of east Texas. Just off the Neches river.

San Antonio area is beautiful. Lots of hogs I'm sure.

Awesome good luck!! I got an elk two weeks ago, and helped a friend get an absolute monster mule deer on a management hunt this past weekend. This weekend is pheasants, next week is my mule deer hunt!

Hell yea! I would love to see pictures of the Mule Deer if you have any. That's a goal of mine.

Great thread and thanks for posting it. Those are some beautiful bucks. I am currently chasing a 10 point here in Michigan. It's not nearly as large as the ones in your pics but it's a good size for where I'm located. It's bow season here and I have spent every minute I can in my stand since seeing him on camera. I have had a lot of does and small bucks but no shooter yet. Our firearm season opens November 15. The rut will be peak about that time.

GOOD LUCK!!

Here he is. 40 yards with a bow. He went about 50 yards and took a digger.

Here's my elk. It's not a giant but it's my first and I'm pretty proud of it. Piled him up where he was standing at 295 yards.

Great pictures guys. I've been way too busy so far this year to get out much at all. Hopefully...

I was fortunate to hunt on a "new to me" property this past weekend. A good friend leased it just for he, his son and I. I had only one, either sex, deer tag for the county and was hoping to get a nice one. The guys saw over a dozen mature bucks on this ground during the earlier bow season. Here was my view over a river bottom grassland protected by the levy:

I was happy to get a young 8 pointer. He isn't one of the big, mature guys they saw earlier bow hunting but it's still meat for the freezer. (Pardon my expression. The guys were teasin me for gettin such a young deer and I was trying not to laugh)

He is aging for a few days in the garage. Bailey dog had to check it out-

I hope to skin and debone with my Recluse later. :)
