Ok I know this might be a little off topic but do any of you watch Lost and think to yourself how awesome that would be to live on that island day in and day out on a big camping trip?

I would think that with this group it would be a resounding yes because what they are doing(minus the scary monster and what not) is what we look forward to do all week/month whatever.

As a kid, I used to think it would have cool to live in back in the 1800s. Then, one day, at the dentist, I decided I was glad I was born after the invention of Novocain. I like living in the wilds, but technology is nice, too.

I think it might get old after a while. It might be nice to live without, as in without the stress of school loans, bills, traffic, commuting, etc. But I would miss my chosen profession, I would miss my friends, family, etc. I like to play the role of misanthrope, but at the heart of it I am a social creature.

just long enought to grow a super sweet beard, lose 60 pounds, and such....but god i hope i have locke's suitcase...no wait....i would have my own....with 3 bk9's 3 fiskars camp axes, 3 fallkniven f1s, and a huge multitude of saks and leathermans.... and all the contents of my 4 BOBs

Right there with ya Scott:thumbup:. I was thinking the same thing.

If some one ever finds an island like that please let me know... Im moving there for the rest of my life.. If there is no limit for what i can take, Im going to bring lots of books with me. I love reading more then anything with truck load of books i got no problem. Everything else i would make do with. It has always been my wish Cruso was my hero as a kid.

Thanks to technology, you can take one of those fancy ebooks from Sony or Amazon.com, a solar charger, and a memory card full of every book from the Gutenberg Project (online classics repository). Heck, take a few spares and you are still at a smaller size than a hardback. It would also be a lot lighter. :)

As far as the island, I believe they film in Hawaii. I'm sure enough money would buy you a swath of land out there, or maybe your own island in the Pacific. I think I could do without the various monsters, magnetic fields, ghosts, psychos, etc. though.

Hi Strol .... I dont know but there is something about holding a real book in your hand. while sitting on some rocks. But i wont pass up on the Ebooks just to have more books... I always got something to with me to read no matter where i go.
From all you guys posting on here i dont think that would be such a lonly island... There would be too many of us on there. Before you know it we would build a city and have jobs on our LOST ISLAND.. Wont that be funny..

I travel a lot on business. Never had a flight attendant tell me to turn off my book. e-books are OK I guess but they still don't beat ink & paper IMO.
The only "e-book" I have is the KJV Bible on my Palm Pilot.
