Living the dream that some of us only dream about...

If living primitive 24/7/365 is your dream, go for it, and be sure to send us photos!! :D
Doc

Am I the only one who sees the irony in this statement?!? :D

I understand the appeal of true wilderness living, but for more than a week or two... screw it, I'm too lazy and spoiled. My dream is a little place with solar panels and maybe a windmill, just far enough out of town to be private, have a big ol' garden and a nice heated shop and land to hunt/goof around on... maybe some bunnies and chickens, definitely a strawberry patch for homemade wine... but close enough to town so we have phone/internet access and my woman can go shopping and our kids can go to school or the doctor. Is that so wrong? :)

I'm with Doc and Stitch on this one, been there, done that...NOTHING beats a warm shower and a dry place out of the cold and rain, NOTHING! I backpacked Across America TWICE, and while it was an adventure back in the day, I have no desire to repeat the trips. Last trip was full of hassles and some tense moments that would make for a good book if I wanted to bother writing it down..again. I had my pack stolen WITH my journal in it after my last day 'on the road'. A whole year of my life written down lost to some petty thief/crackhead who probably tossed it in a dumpster. It's a wonderful life if you're a trustfund baby!
