Thinking about getting a pair for early morning walks through a grassy area. My feet and pants get soaked from the dew.

I had a pair 30 years ago. Are there better alternatives available?

The original Bean boots are hard to beat.

For years I always had a pair around for when needed.

But for me, my sweaty feet don’t stay happy rapped in rubber, so I can’t us them for extended periods.

Also, moisture management aside, they don’t offer the support I need when hiking.

With so many well designed Gore Tex lined hiking boots available there are many good alternatives available which offer better support and breathability while still being waterproof.

What you really need is a pair of knee-high gaiters. Good ones cover a decent portion of your boot/shoe, keeping them and your lower leg dry.

They are great inthe snow and even the sandy/rocky areas where grit can work its way into your boots.

I have a pair of LL Bean hikers with a Gore Tek lining that I've used for quite a few years. I probably need to replace them but they are so comfy. If the boots they make now are the same as they used to make, I say

I got them originally because they were Gore Tek lined and about half the price of other "name brand" boots.
