Has anybody considered going with a locking folder, like a Spyderco, with decent steel and carrying a second knifeless tool? Something like a Swisstech or a no-name keyring-tool with the blade removed.
I used to carry an Endura but don't anymore. A SAK simply cuts better even if it does have "worse" steel. There's more to cutting efficiency than steel type.
