Up for sale is a beautiful John Lloyd custom slim trapper.
I bought this knife brand new a few months ago from VCM Customs and paid $365 + postage.
This thing has got beautiful amber Sambar Stag covers. The blade is made from CPM 154. This item has stainless steel pins, bollsters and shield. It has stainless steel mill relieved liners so there is no worry about scratching the blade tang. The closed length is 3 7/8 inches.
I copied the existing 25 degree bevel with my Wicked Edge sharpener. This thing had perfect 25 degree angles so there was not much material removed at all. John really knows how to sharpen a blade. In the past I have actually ordered a few knives unsharpened just so I could put the perfect 25 degree secondary bevel on them with my Wicked Edge guided rod sharpening system.
I think I carried this a total of 2x in a pocket slip afterwards and cut nothing but a couple of envelopes.
This thing has excellent walk and talk. It is not a bear-trap or a fingernail-breaker but it is pretty snappy and makes all the right noises. There's also a nice half stop.
The blade closes up just a hair off center. It is not even close to rubbing. You can see in the picture exactly what I'm talking about.
This is a perfect way to get into the world of custom slip joints. This is an entry-level price with cover materials and blade grind quality that you would only see on knives costing three or four times as much. The only person I've seen come close to topping his cover materials.... is another knife made by John.
This is the same man that donated the Stag cover material for one of the bladeforums club knives.
I really do not want to get rid of this but unfortunately I have spent a little bit of cash on something else and need to recoup the funds.
These pictures are right from Vince's website. I hope he doesn't mind as long as I give him the credit. I can't take them anywhere near as well as he can.
I'm asking $OLDUSD net shipped anywhere in North America. If you're in Canada I can probably give you a slight discount on the postage.

You can say I'll take it here.
Thank you very much for looking.
