LM Wave or swisstool ?

SwissTool Rules !!! :)

.... until I get me a LM Charge !!! Woo Haa

I hope its not too heavy so can be carried everyday on ma keychain .....

I own both a Wave and an original Swisstool and though the Swisstool seems of better construction I would probably prefer the Wave if for EDC. That said, I look forward to the Victorinox Spirit I've just heard about.

In spite of owning a lot of Leathermans, the ones I carry on my person regularly are a Micra and an original PST. The PST seems a perfect urban-carry EDC multi-tool plier, and the Micra is a good supplement to it (oh, and I also carry a Victorinox Classic and Soldier SAKs too. :) I carry the PST in a horizontal cordura(??) belt sheath that was originally designed for the large Sebenza by CRK. It's a great carry system, because I forget it's there until I need it. But unfortunately, I have heard CRK no longer produces these sheaths.

That is the one problem i find with multi-tools like Leatherman and Victorinox; no horizontal belt-carry option. (sorry, a bit off-topic).

Leatherman Wave is the right size for anybody's hands. It is handy and useful for most situations and it fits nicely into the pouch.

On the other hand, the Swiss Tool is a thing of beauty. It is an engineering wonder. It's finishing is first class. It is classy and a real beauty to look at, even if you don't want to use it.

Depending on the situation, both are equally useful. The only thing I can think of which may be considered a minus for the Swiss Tool is its weight. Some people have complained that it is a mite too hefty.

If you can handle its weight, than it is not a problem. :) ;)

The nylon sheath for the charge has a horizontal and vertical belt carry option. Not sure about the leather becuase i don't own that one.

if you dont mind the extra weight go for the swisstool . i own one and recently went to buy a wave but after playing with it in the shop i didnt like it .It just felt flimsy and too much play in the handles when closed so i bought a supertool 200 instead . The shop keeper also said he has more waves come back due to failure than any other leatherman .I edc a swisstool for 4 years and it never let me down (at present i edc a supertool 200 just for a change ).Cant comment on the new wave as it will be some time before it gets to england .

I've got a Swisstool RS, with the seatbelt cutter(really useful) and the scissors. It's perfect for me, but I wear it in a sheath. In pocket, it's pretty heavy. I've never been impressed with any of the Leathermans that I've owned or handled - it seems like they have great ideas and then fall short in the implementation. I haven't played with the new Charges, maybe they're better, but I suspect the Swisstool will be cheaper - I got one on Ebay for about $45 shipped. It's really hard to beat V-nox, they do such huge volume that they can afford top-notch engineering and still sell for a very reasonable price.
