LN2 treatment

I've got a three foot length of thin wall brass tube. That I stick in to the bottom. Pull it out and the frost line shows up immediately.

You can also get a hot water heater( insulation) blanket to provide additional insulation to try to keep it longer.
 
The idea is to 'suspend' the knife whether in gas or liquid .If you put the blade to the bottom of the tank, that side of the blade will cool quicker and WARP !
Warping doesn't just happen , there are reasons. Better to remove the problems . Things that are done to the steel long before you get it may appear as a warp near the final operations. I like 'sub-critical ' anneal as there is little trouble doing it .Lower temperature means less scale , decarb .Check out each of the operations it can save you big problems.
