Local Gun & Knife Show - Disappointing

There was one knife dealer at the last gun show I went to that got it right in my book. He sold low end knives, but he made a few bucks on each, and gave good discounts on multiple knife purchases. He was at low Ebay prices, and he had a line at his table. His stuff was not my cup of tea, but I chatted with him about the legal status of some of his knives ( turns out he was a former LEO and me too!), and he was a pleasant guy with the right attitude to make several sales....He has his wife and kid helping him, and he was busy enough to need them !

You know whos really making money at gun and knife shows these days the people collecting your entrance fee at the door thats it. I quit when the latest gun craze hit I can deal better with my local guys I have known for years. I used to go down to just laugh at the prices and also some of the junk they were peddling. Heck the prices are so bad that its not funny anymore and the junk is worse than ever. I just always pass now. Buy locally or online

I also gave up on my local knife and gun show. Actually, there was an accidental shooting there this month and someone got hurt.

I setup at shows for about 10 years selling highcapacity magazines during the ban. Since it was a part-time situation for me and not my actual livelihood I was free to wheel and deal as I saw fit. I was always willing to buy or trade for items that folks brought in with them as long as I could see me selling it for more than I have put into it. I did not deal much with knives during those ten years as I was not knowledgeable about their values but I did sell a few. I wish I still had the halfdozen Beretta sidelocks I had bought on closeout from a wholesaler at $20 each, I sold them for $30 each and now they sell for nearly twice that. Quite a few lower priced rifles and shotguns changed hands during that time as well. I never went after the highpriced stuff figuring that items under $100 would turn over the quickest.
Just thought I would throw in my experiances with gun shows.
