When i look at the lock up pick i would say it's about 75-80%.
But maybe this is just how it looks on your pic and it's more to 90% in reality?
No blade play at all! I even tried to push the lockbar in and it won't budge. I think it is tight in that position( as in photo).
Actually, I just think it is. You are right, could be 75 to 80%. I will keep this like as I really don't put it to hard use. I just switched blade stops with another small sebbie and and it actually a little better. Thanks to all that responded! I love this forum!! great guys!!
Eventually, another forumite had a new damascus blade made and I asked if he would sell the original. gave me afair price and I ended up with a damascus folder(stainless ladder) at a good price.
I'm going to try to say this w/o coming off like a total jerk -- if I'm unsuccessful, my apologies in advance.
Chris spent a huge amount of engineering effort to design and manufacture the Sebenza, not only to provide that precise and smooth CRK operation we all love, but for unparalleled serviceability by the customer. Is there another folder on the planet of even close to this precision of which the manufacturer encourages total disassembly by the customer? Talk about an amazing design! We customers greatly benefit from this superbly engineered serviceability in that we don't have to send in our Sebenzas or Mnandis to be cleaned and get up and running 100%. CRK, OTOH, takes on a great deal of risk by putting this design out on the market. Customers can, against CRK's wishes, mix and match these custom fitted, tightly toleranced parts that define the very precision on which their reputation is built. If this happens:
Now, I know that when you purchase a product, it's yours to lawfully do with as you please. I would however, encourage you, when dealing with a part-swapped CRK folder, to VERY CLEARLY, UP FRONT, DISCLOSE THE PART SWAPPING, especially if you're discussing issues with the knife. I would also encourage you to NEVER SELL A PART SWAPPED CRK FOLDER, even with disclosure. The history of part-swapping abuse does not stick with the knife, nor do many non-CRK enthusiasts understand the issues that part swapping cause. The reduced precision and associated loss of "the CRK allure" due to part swapping is not fair to the new owner, nor CRK.
- the knife no longer works the way it was intended,
- the fact that parts were swapped gets lost from history,
- CRK quality erroneously gets questioned and their hard-earned reputation gets unduly damaged,
- CRK has to deal with fixing a knife whose problems were not caused by them.
Alejandrino,

I have no intention of trrying to sell this knife to anybody !! I do resent your telling about disclosures, etc..as I am fully aware of CRK warranties. I bought this knoife from two different forumites with full knowledge of whaat I was doing and it is just what I wanted. I am asking for some advices here with no intention of blaming CRK knives or returning this for a FREE warrantee. I do resent your comments as I think it is inappropriate in my case !!!

I may be off base here, but I didn't read a personal reprimand here as much as advice to CR fans as a collective. Alejandrino, you were being very upfront about your request and seem to be genuine in your disclosure. It's your knife to do with as you please. However, there is no way to determine that, should you sell or trade a blended knife, that the next in the chain will be as forthright. Keeping the pool of available knives as clean as possible helps all of us who trade in the aftermarket, and indirectly, helps keep costs down through CR not having to deal with with user created problems. It's all good.
