Lock up question on frame/liner locks

I have only completed one frame lock with another in the works.
My question for you guys is. Where exactly do you want the lock face to engage the blade tang? Should the entire lock face be in contact with the tang, bottom? The one I'm working on had a little bit of rock and it seemed like only the top of the lock face was hitting the tang so I assume the top is not good as it seemed to alow blade movement/rock down when lock was engaged.

You generally want the lower section of the lock to engage. Bob Terzoula has a book discussing this in detail. If you can get it through the library service I recommend it. Has helped me a lot in sorting out my lock issues.

Aditionally if there is another maker in your are it helps to go and discuss issues. I am fortunate to have visited Andre Thorburn recently and got some good advice as well.
