Well, I finaly did it. I took apart a lockback (EKA folder) for cleaning and as soon as I lifted the scales, The parts sprayed out and I cant put it back together. Does anyone have diagrams showing the inside of a lockback?
thanks.
If you get everything else together you can depress the lockbar and hold the spring down with your thumb so it does not go sideways on you and then install the blade while depressing the spring so it does not fight you. Once the pivot pin is through you can let it up. Wear safety glasses just in case it does get away from you though because they can spring out of there and pop you good if you are not careful depending on model and spring strength/tension.
I normally recommend taping off the edge of the blade first also. Its a job that I know for the person not doing it all the time almost seems like you need a third or even a fourth hand to do the job but with some patience and finesse you can muster it.
If nothing else showing pics of what you have there now by scanning them can help me to walk you through how to maybe get it back together.
There are front lock, mid locking and back locking folders so it depends on what you have there as to which diagram you might need to see.
